Stranger Together

Chris and Lulu met for the first time, in 2012, at the fringe-y biker party known as the Dead Baby Downhill. They were introduced by mutual friend, Tahoma, who described Chris as his “runner friend.” Chris was wearing a hot pink, sparkly speedo and running shoes (by the way, this wasn’t a costume party). Lulu, being experienced in the ways of exhibitionist runner-types, took one look at Chris and thought, “yeah, that sounds about right.”

Chris and Lulu’s paths crossed again, in a more intentional way, in the spring of 2013. Laura (Lulu’s friend and Tahoma’s wife) had an inkling that the two might enjoy each other’s company. She heard, through Tahoma, that Chris was looking for a female runner to participate in a relay team he was on. Laura suggested he give Lulu a call about the race. Before he called, she prepped Lulu by saying he was “really cute and really smart.” This was intriguing to Lulu and, while she wasn’t running enough at the time to participate in the race, she suggested they get together for an easy run.

What started as running buddies slowly evolved into friendship, then dating, and in 2018 a marriage proposal.

Now, a marriage and a baby later, Lulu and Chris want to celebrate their love with all of you!

Please join us for festivities in a place we have traveled to often and is very special to us, Orcas Island. Events will take place September 12-15, 2019. Can’t wait to see you there!
